MDOP 2011, including App-V 4.6 SP1, is now available!

newToday we announced the general availability of MDOP 2011, which includes among other things the long awaited App-V 4.6 SP1!  So what’s new in this release?  Well here are couple bullets announced by Gavriella Schuster over on the Windows for your Business blog:

- Package Accelerators are a new capability with App-V, which I think is the most exciting aspect of this news. The Package Accelerators give IT pros and ISVs a way to covert traditional applications directly into App-V. Basically, it speeds up application packaging and App-V deployment, making the move to Windows 7 all the more easier.

- In April, we’ll provide Package Accelerators for Project, Adobe Reader and Office 2010

- We’re also updating our licensing for App-V, starting April 1st, so hosters can deliver Microsoft Dynamics from the cloud using App-V (this will be part of our App-V Service Provider Licensing Agreement).

For all the details see the release on the MDOP blog here.
