Troubleshooting tool to validate connector networking prerequisites

We have created a tool to help you validate the networking prerequisites of the connector machine. It detects issues like closed outbound ports.

You can run this tool from the connector installation Wizard:

Or by following these steps:

  1. Make sure that you can open a ClickOnce software on your server and make connectorsnam1cus.blob.core.windows.net a trusted site.
  2. Open IE as an administrator
  3. Open this URL: https://aka.ms/aadapConnectorTroubleshoot
  4. Approve the dialogs
  5. See the final report

Here is how the report looks like when everything is OK:

Here is how the report looks like when not all the prerequisites are met:

We are looking forward to hear your feedback and proposals. We will keep improving the tool. You can send us an e-mail to aadapfeedback@microsoft.com

  1. Mathieu says:

Hi, does this tool work when a proxy is required? When testing from a browser we can access all required URL’s and port. But the troubleshooter keeps failing. The proxy is defined in the config files.

  2. Robert Hardy says:

This trouble shooting tool along with the port connectivity test page here need a rewrite:
    https://aadap-portcheck.connectorporttest.msappproxy.net/
They do not seem to actually check the hosts which the server attempts to bootstrap off of. Your logs can be full of communication errors but the port checker will be all green check marks and this tool will happily report: The Azure AD Application Proxy Connector Troubleshooter did not find any connectivity issues on your system
