Привет, коллеги! Прошу прощения за долгое молчание, к сожалению (а можно и к счастью)) нахожусь сейчас в Германии в командировке и катастрофически нет времени, чтобы написать что-нибудь в блоге. Поэтому сегодня поделюсь с вами информацией, которая может быть полезна студентам, которые хотят пройти летнюю стажировку в Microsoft.

Все желающие (если вы студент) могут принять участие в конкурсе на прохождение летней стажировки в Microsoft. Что же для этого нужно? Ознакомиться с требованиями к кандидатам ниже и прислать резюме на v-ndelma@microsoft.com, написав в поле Subject: Microsoft Internship Program. 

 

Резюме принимаются до 2 марта 2007 года, затем начнется отбор кандидатов для финальных интервью.

Required Candidate Qualifications:
• Fluent English language skills
• Strong MS Core Competencies
• Strong technical skills based on academic experience, previous internships or work experience
• Candidates MUST be enrolled in school for the following year. Graduating students are not eligible to be interns.
We will be hiring Software Design Engineers (SDE) and Software Design Engineers in Test (SDET) interns.

1. SDEs develop next-generation applications, operating systems, and tools. They write code, construct data structures and algorithms, and work closely with the Program Manager to define and prioritize features

SDE Skill Set:
• C/C++/C#
• Creativity and innovation
• Passion for writing code
• Broad knowledge of computer science fundamentals
• Ability to think "outside the box"
• Drive for results
Roles and responsibilities:
• Construct data structures and algorithms
• Write quality code
• Explore innovative technical solutions
• Test and debug code
• Contribute to feature definition and design
• Examine feature feasibility and estimate development time
• Work with team to meet deadlines
2. An SDET position is a developer position – the primary responsibility is to write code. SDETs write automated testing tool suites and also developer tools used only within the company. SDETs are good at targeting specific coding problems and writing code to solve those problems.  

SDET Skill Set:

• Complex problem solving skills
• Creativity and innovation
• Methodical approach
• Attention to detail
• Negotiation and conflict management
• Drive for results
Roles and responsibilities:
• Design and develop tool architecture
• Write automation systems and device drivers
• Author test plans and cases
• Conduct security and stress tests
• Debug at source level
• Identify, investigate, and prioritize bugs
• Communicate with SDEs and STEs to resolve issues efficiently
