  1. Registration
    1. Welcome Screen
    2. Password Gate. It asks for your password. You don't want someone else to register for you while you are not at your machine right?
    3. QA Gate. Hm... What is my Employee number? Let me think...
    4. That's it. Pretty easy huh.
  2. Reset
    1. I don't remember my password. Let's reset it.
    2. I know the answers 🙂
    3. What do I want for my new password?
    4. Wow, I can't believe it is that easy and fast.

  1. AnthonyHo says:

You should be able to use any authentication module / reverse proxy you want as long as it passes the user's account info to the IIS App just like the Windows Authentication.

We don't have docs on publishing SSPR portals via a specific technology

  2. AnthonyHo says:

No, custom gate is not supported

  3. AnthonyHo says:

Yes, you can change it to whatever you want

  4. AnthonyHo says:

    TMG, yes

You need a reverse proxy that can provide the Windows Authentication to IIS

  5. AnthonyHo says:

Yes, both registration and reset can be done from a coffee shop

  6. AnthonyHo says:

I meant anywhere with internet connection

  7. AnthonyHo says:

What's the scenario you are trying to achieve with Helpdesk users?

  8. AnthonyHo says:

FIM R2 supports OTP via SMS/Email, cross-browser, cross-forest, portal customization, bulk registration,,,

Not to mention workflow, policy, user mgmt, group mgmt…

I don't think Eaglenest IDM supports those

  9. Anonymous says:

how user can register reset the password when user must change the password at next logon option enabled.

we have set of new users created with user must change the password at logon option, in this case how user will change password.

  10. v-juanm says:

The question must my abelt o be customized, no all the company will have an employ badge number like inside MS,

  11. No PC on domain says:

Can you register for SSPR without logging onto domain through a PC, that is register and do your password reset through a web accessible URL?

  12. ene says:

    Anthony,

How about helpdesk users, can they be extranet users?

In other words, do they have to be joined to the domain?

    N

  13. Tim says:

How do we publish the Password Reset Portal to extranet users can we use any reverse proxy such as TMG?

  14. ML49448 says:

Do you know whether HTML Forms Based Authentication is supported with FIM. The June 2012 V1.0 FIM 2010 R2 Self Service Password Reset deployment guide illustrates a non-domain joined Reverse Proxy providing HTML Forms Based Authentication. Do you know whether this correct. Is there a defined process for publishing the FIM 2010 R2 Password Registration & Reset portals on a Reverse Proxy such as TMG.

  15. james says:

You say I can reset from a coffee shop, would it also be possible from home or another place of work?

  16. tom says:

A cheaper solution, that does exact same thing + few some management options.

  17. gaurav says:

Is there any documentation that can help extending this feature for building our own gates?
