Updates just posted to Active Directory Certificate Services (AD CS) documentation

A few updates were just posted, so I am putting out an FYI post. I should do this more often, so I will! Anyways, here goes:

1. Slowly, but surely, the AD CS documentation is being consolidated into a single download center page: Active Directory Certificate Services (AD CS) https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=212919. Further, you can actually go to https://www.microsoft.com/download and type in AD CS and find this page as your first link. Oh yeah, and I am publishing both PDF and Word versions of everything, so people can use their “other” devices to read this documentation.

2. On a related note, the AD CS: Deploying Cross-forest Certificate Enrollment paper has been updated on the download center to have the same information as the online version https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff955845.aspx and I placed a link in the online document to the download center version.

3. Identify a Key Recovery Agent was updated with a note that points out to the differences between Version 2 and Version 3 certificate templates. Someone left a comment pondering why the instructions still referenced Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition. https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc770588.aspx

As a final, but interesting note, a feature that used to be referred to as Build-A-Book has made it to TechNet Beta. I will let you discover more about this yourself, but just leave you this figure in order to get a start on it. Good news is that it supports build PDFs – for all of your other devices and databases:
