BDD Workbench Error: Unable to open the specified WIM file

A Vista LTI is captured to the BDD server and during import as an Operating System the following error occurs:

An unexpected error occurred while updating the view.

Unable to open the specified WIM file.

The details show the dump, with "System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception: The data is invalid."

Any subsequent attempt to view/refresh the OS node results in the same error and no objects are displayed.  Distribution\Control\OperatingSystems.xml has no reference to the new, corrupt WIM.  However, Distribution\Operating Systems contains a folder with the imported content.

I was always under the impression that the Workbench only parses the OS.xml file, but using FileMon I saw that it enumerates all folders under the Operating Systems directory.  I deleted the folder for the attempted import, reopened the Workbench and all's well.
