Hello, world

Okay, I think it's finally time to start a blog.  Often while coding I will come across an interesting problem.  The solution to this type of problem is rarely found in one convenient place, such as the msdn documentation.  Usually there are pieces scattered through many different help pages, articles, blogs, etc.  So when I finally assemble a nifty solution to the problem I think to myself "hey, someone should put this in their blog."  Since no one else has magically done this on their own, I guess the time has come for me to do it myself...
