Windows Phone 7 App: Orloj Astronomical Clock

Hi all-

In my spare time - I worked with my co-worker friend Jim Adams to develop a WP7 App called Orloj. Jim was inspired from his recent trip to Prague - seeing the clock in person. I was interested in learning more on WP7 development and intrigued by the mechanics of the clock.

https://wp7applist.com/app/7878/Orloj - Here is the link for the Orloj App. It is currently priced at $0.99.

I wanted to share a link to the application for you all to take a look at. Let me know what you think. Here is the official description below:

This app is a
working simulation of the famous Prague Astronomical Clock (Orloj)
located in the Old Town Hall of Prague, Czech Republic. Anyone
travelling to or who has visited Prague will learn about and appreciate
how the craftsmen of the 13th century created this amazing clockwork
that has worked nearly continuously for the past 600 years. Tapping
either the date, month, year, hour or minute display (or any
combination) will increment each parameter once per second to allow the
user to visualize the path of the Sun and Moon across the Ecliptic in
fast-forward. See how the Sun's position on the Ecliptic dictates the
length of day from season to season. Additional panels in this panorama
application explain the major components of the Orloj and location of
the companion features of the Clock Tower.

This app is a
must-have for any astronomy or history buff or those travelling to
Prague and want to understand the purpose behind one of the most
beautiful clocks in Europe. Don't just see the Orloj -- understand how
it works!
